I know that the idea of an SF community has been floated.  Has anyone tried to define what a community that incorporated the protective factors into its fabric would look like?  Is it a Harlem Children’s Zone or something else?

It’s an interesting thought.  It reminds me of the work that the Search Institute did in organizing communities to officially adopt the 40 Developmental Assets and get community members to commit to being asset builders.  I’m brand new to this conversation, so am not sure what other efforts are going on around the country.

I think the idea is similar.  Are there people still doing the Healthy Communities work?  I have also looked at the Promise community stuff coming out of the Promise Alliance.  It looks good but may be too easy to get their designation.  There is a teacher from Kansas who will be on a panel at the SF Summit who is working to get the key institutions and organizations in her community to adopt the PF framework.  she has the idea of creating a SF community too.
