For everyone working to strengthen families and support children’s optimal development, there is no doubt that these are challenging times. As organizations and agencies across the country face difficult budget cuts, more and more families are struggling to make ends meet and give their children what they need to thrive. But during tough times, there are great, often unnoticed opportunities for bringing new, innovative ideas into ongoing efforts to strengthen families.
The Strengthening Families Leadership Summit is all about Creating Opportunities in Challenging Times. How do you recognize the moments when you can make a difference? Where do you go to get the support you need? How can the Strengthening Families framework help you do your work every day, even as the context is changing? How can Strengthening Families help you address the challenges your state is facing?
Save the dates to join the Center for the Study of Social Policy and its partners in Strengthening Families in Atlanta, Georgia, October 28 – 29, 2009, as we address these questions, and more. At the Strengthening Families Leadership Summit, you will have the chance to:
- learn from leaders around the country using Strengthening Families to improve the lives of parents and children,
- share your experience and expertise with others,
- get brand-new resources and tools to use in your organization, agency, or state, and
- celebrate the small but significant changes that people around the country are making every day to strengthen families.
Please also join us on October 27, 2009 at 6:00 PM EST for an opening reception celebrating the work of Strengthening Families leaders around the country.
