Strengthening Families National Network
State Partners
SFNN State Partners are statewide collaborations that have implemented deep, broad-based Strengthening Families approaches in multiple systems. State Partners are modeling powerful strategies that states, territories, and tribes across the country can use to protect children from abuse and neglect, and they are exploring new frontiers in building the Protective Factors that strengthen families.
Activities and Benefits for State Partners
State Partners take part in all of the member activities and benefits that State Affiliates do, and they also:
- Participate in a quarterly topical teleconferences
- Serve as peer reviewers for tools and materials created by SFNN members
- Represent the SFNN at national and statewide meetings, conferences, and events
- Participate in developing the SFNN
State Partners are a natural choice for foundations and other partners seeking to study, pilot, and support family strengthening initiatives. For example, with the support of the A. L. Mailman Foundation, Strengthening Families initiatives in Illinois, New Jersey, and Wisconsin are working to increase linkages between child welfare and early care and education. Other state-level activities have been supported by the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, the BUILD Initiative, and the FRIENDS National Resource Center.
